W.T.H. !! (What The Hell)

Sooooo, some of Oprah’s fans are crying foul because she will not invite the Republican VP nominee, Sarah Palin, to her show until after the election.

She’s being two-faced,” said Dr. Cindy Grossman-Green, a pediatrician and Oprah fan from outside Philadelphia. “She initially had Obama on her show, but now that she’s decided [to support him], she won’t have any other political candidates on.”

Whine much? How about some cheese?

She has publically endorsed Barack Obama and has assisted in his fundraising you nimrod! Why in the world would she invite and subsequently give invaluable airtime to his competitors? Not a very strategic move, no?

Once she brings Obama on and opens the door to political people [on her show], it’s only fair to bring both Republicans and Democrats on,” she added.

Fair? Fair? Unlike mass media outlets, Oprah isn’t required to give “fair” airtime to political candidates, she doesn’t have to be “balanced“. In case you missed it, the name of her show is THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW. Not ABC, not CBS, not NBC, FOX, CNN, etc. She doesn’t have a board of directors or investors to answer to. She doesn’t have to be “unbiased” in her presentation of topics or invited guests.

But you over zealous feminist women who are whining about “fairness” are the same ones, I imagine, that were pissy with Oprah when she decided to support Obama in the first place. You [die-hard feminist] got your granny panties all in a bunch because she decided NOT to endorse Hillary Clinton. You wanted her to pledge allegiance to female power…to Va Jay Jays everywhere. Yeah, I get it.

However, you’ve seemed to have slept on one big factor here. While Ms Winfrey is a woman…she still is a black woman who hails from a humble beginning in the hills of Mississippi. A state steeped in an ugly history of racial bigotry and injustices. Now I can’t speak for Ms Winfrey because she does a far better job of it anyway and I don’t know the lady. But I would gamble to say that Barack Obama struck a chord with her as he did many. Something resonated within her soul.

Here is a man that isn’t pandering to one particular group of people because he can see the bigger picture. Here is a man that represents hope and who doesn’t mind rolling up his sleeves and working hard for “the people” in his community and subsequently, his country. And this is a Black man. An African American Man.

Forty five years after Martin Luther King, Jr gave his “I Have A Dream” speech in Washington, DC, we are seeing the fruits of his labor (and the Civil Rights Movement). Forty five years after the blood, sweat, tears, and death of so many black men and women a Black Man is the Democratic nominee for President of the United States!! It gives me goosebumps!!

It is my humble opinion that young black boys and men need to see this example of responsibility, hard work, and hope far more so than feminist women trying to break through the glass ceiling. The 18 million cracks are there…ya just gotta wait your turn and STOP THE DAYUM WHINING!!

I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch the RNC, my stomach is weak and I can’t handle all the bullshit and hypocrisy. The people in this party are unbelievable and talk out of both sides of their neck! don’t believe me? View the video.

Hat tip to the folks at O’ Hell Nawl for posting the video first.

Also, I received an email today from someone passing along info from one of Palin’s alleged constituents in Alaska. Always the skeptic and not believing everything I read, I Googled the person named. In short, it is supposedly a letter from an educator in Alaska coming out against Palin.

Google returned a link to this blog, theWOWatch (Women in the News. Women on the News). Whoopi Goldberg is a contributor and has posted an poignant piece regarding her thoughts on Sarah Palin. Read it HERE!

Also, another fellow blogger has pointed out some innacuracies in both “Palin’s speech and McCain’s rhetoric”. Check it out at The Mo’Kelly Report.

Do you think the Republicans are hypocritical when it comes to the media treatment/scrutiny of Palin? What about their [Republicans] stance to back off the topic of her unwed teenage daughter? How does that fit into the party of “family values”? Would their reaction be the same of a Democrat’s family had it been the same circumstances?

What are your thoughts?

It was a hellava Saturday afternoon!

The tow truck driver had no teeth in his head and his truck had no A/C. He wore glasses the size of coke bottles and when he read the text messages his mobile phone was less than two inches away from his face. He regaled me with the story of his diabetic fiancé who couldn’t eat the Krispy Kreme donuts he offered to me and about their “rainbow” colored sunset wedding ceremony planned for Thanksgiving.

The 30 minute ride to the dealership was…interesting but far less exciting than my truck stalling in the middle of I-20 in Atlanta.

There I am exiting I-285 to I-20 W wanting to get around the slow pokes behind the 18-wheelers traveling at about 30 MPH.

I “punch it” (hit the gas for you short bus-ers). Initially, the FX35 performs as expected. But 30 seconds later is sputtering and bugging like Herbie the LoveBug.

DA HELL!!!

STALLED!!! In the middle of the interstate!! So focused on why my car isn’t accelerating and literally stomping the hell out of the gas pedal, I didn’t peep the cars, SUVs, or semi trucks in the rearview mirror barreling towards me. Thank God!! Jesus be a fence!!!

I managed to pull over to the emergency lane where I put it park and rev the engine. It is still sputtering but I am able to make it up the interstate two exits and to my mother’s house. While safe in the driveway, I place a call to the dealership and to Roadside Assistance.

The next four hours of my afternoon is spent on the phone with the towing company, Roadside Assistance, and the Infiniti dealership; riding in a tow truck with no A/C, the toothless blind as a bat driver in 90° Georgia weather. Needless to say, I was beyond happy to get the “loaner” car and head home for a hot bath and dinner.

What the hell happened with my truck? Mass Airflow Sensor failure.

Lessons learned? Stay thankful. Remain humble. Keep your sense of humor.

***UPDATE***

Please do not underestimate the power of the Internet nor the tools available to the little people. Someone at Dell Corporation has seen this post. The proof is in the stats you can see in the image below. Now, what, if anything will they (Dell) do about it?

I WILL BE HEARD!! I WILL NOT BE SILENCED!!!!

The following is a letter to the entire Board of Directors at Dell Computers. I had to wait a few days to compose this letter because, believe me, I was heated!! Like many U.S. companies, Dell has outsourced its most of its customer service calls to India. I think I would be safe in going out on a limb to say this fact plays a large part in Dell’s reps being clueless in “customer care”. The language barrier is only one small hurdle you have to face when dealing with these oblivions.

It’s Friday afternoon and I dip out of the office early with no real concrete plans for the weekend. I cannot begine to express just how happy I am to see this day. My moods swings this week have almost meant the death of 2 Dell customer service reps, random people in traffic, my sister, my “piece”…hell, just about anyone with whom I came into contact.  Nope. It wasn’t a good week.

I stop at my neighborhood Publix to pick up a few things before heading to the crib and veggin’ out. First stop is the bakery where, to my utter disgust, a fly is having his way inside the donut case. Shimmying his nasty ass around that blueberry bagel. BUZZZ…BUZZZZ!  Uuuggghhhh! No late night donuts for me.

After informing the baker of the FLY situation, I head to the case with the “covered & sealed” pies and grab a piece of key lime pie.

I make my way to the back of the store to the seafood department to order my Alaskan King crab steamed with Old Bay seasoning. While I’m waiting my turn, I notice a family of four with the youngest being a baby no more than 1 or 2 years old and from what I can see, a special needs child. The older child is about 13 years old and he’s entertaining the baby with a ball. The baby throws the ball and screams while the teen runs to retrieve the ball. This goes on about 3 or 4 times until the mom shuts it down to the apparent disapproval of the baby who begins to scream and grunt…very loudly.
