twila1.jpgThis is a “shout out” to a soldier who is on her way to Balad, Iraq today. God Speed!

I first met Twila when I worked at The Weather Channel and she was my supervisor. It was not a warm and fuzzy start…tee hee hee. Ms. Independent, smart-ass, mind of my own, total disdain for authority (Chocl8t) and the disciplined, focused, part-time student, full-time supervisor, military minded (Twila) mixed like oil and water. Nope, no warm and fuzzy. LOL

To Twila’s credit though, she was doing what she had to in order to do what she wanted to later. After taking another position within our department, I could see a big change. She was more relaxed and stress free and she smiled more! Over the 5 years I worked with Twila, I came to respect and admire her diplomacy, discipline, and work ethic. She really is cool as hell! 🙂

As I stated earlier, Twila is headed to Balad, Iraq today as apart of a Naval installation. Yeah, the Navy in Iraq! All that dayum sand, no major body of water but Bush-Whack is sending Naval installations to the desert. Thanks a lot Einstein! But this post isn’t about the whacko retarded president. It’s about my former co-worker who I am proud to call a friend.

Keep your eyes open and your head up…I’m praying for your safe, unharmed, uninjured return to the A-T-L!!

merrychristmas.jpgThis year was no different than previous years. Two weeks prior to Christmas my mailbox is loaded with greeting cards wishing me Merry Cristmas, Happy New Year or the disgustingly politically correct, Happy Holidays or Seasons Greetings.

Some of the cards are the standard stock cards that you find in Target or Walmart. Some are from the special order stock which are of a higher quality and a bit more expensive. Then there are the ones with pictures of my friends’ children. These are my favorite!! I usually think to myself ‘Oh, I can’t wait to have kids so I can send cards like this’.

naughtygirl.jpgnaughtygirl2.jpgWell, don’t see that happening soon so I have a question. Would it be too vain or narcissistic to send Christmas cards with my picture? My niece suggested sending cards with pictures of her sons since I don’t have children of my own.

What about a picture of me  in a Fredrick’s of Hollywood Santa’s Helper outfit with black knee boots in front of the fireplace or Christmas tree? Okay, that might be too much!  But can you imagine the reactions?!!  🙂

Seriously though. Would it be too vain?

Taking some time off from posting. Don’t fret! I’ll be back next week! I’m taking the entire week of Christmas off and I am sure I’ll have something to rant about. I have a couple of things on my mind already like the pros and cons of office romances, the shelf life of unrequited love, and single motherhood.

After the morning I had at work today, I needed a shot of Patron! But since I’m not into drinking alone nor to ease any emotional pain, I decided against it. Instead I decided to reminisce on some childhood memories that made me smile.

Saturday morning cartoons. Well, it wasn’t so much the cartoons I remember but rather the School House Rock educational “diddies” that played in between the cartoons.

Here are a few of my favorites!
