Chocl8t Ramblings

A few thoughts running through my mind. One thought didn’t produce enough for its own post so they have to share this space in my Random Ramblings.

~ Funny how you can know someone your entire life and not really know them at all. Is it that I am still learning things about myself or have I just began to recognize and accept myself as is – faults, warts, and all? Probably more so of the latter.

~ The expiration date is quickly approaching for my online dating adventure. I am done! After only 45 days, I have realized that I prefer the old-fashioned dating method. Given my recent history and track record with that – I might not be dating much. No worries though…I think Xandria is having a great sale. 😉

~ The Bald Va-Jay-Jay. What’s behind some men’s fascination with and desire for a hairless pum-pum? Close shaven or Brazilian maybe, but BALD?  Are men who like that clean-shaven look suspect as a close male friend has suggested? Doesn’t it remind you a of pre pubescent child – no hair? Not to mention it itches like hell during the “grow out” phase. Have a girl scratching like she’s got fleas. NOT. A. GOOD. LOOK! Trust me….I know 😐

~ My 1.5 hour commute (one-way) gives me a lot of time to think. Think about what to prepare for dinner…what to wear to work the next day. Should I purchase that $350 bicycle? When will my house sell? How much time spent on each thought really depends on how bad traffic is that day. Today Raheem Devaughns’ “Bedroom” triggered the following…”funny…I don’t remember the last time a man made me sweat where it rolled  between my breasts down to my stomach and landed in the creases of my belly button. Hmph…I really need to buy that toy from Xandria...”

~People who sit in a restaurant alone and talk on their mobile phones really annoy me. The same goes for those who yap away on the phone while in the checkout line at the grocery while the cashier rings their items. I think it is rude. the former indicates to me that the solo diner is not comfortable being alone. A lady sat down a few chairs away from me at the sushi bar today during lunch. She was chatting it up on her phone and the chef had to repeat himself several times because she was so engrossed in her conversation. RUDE! RUDE! RUDE!

Any thoughts on my thoughts or thoughts of your own you’d like to share?

The title of this post should say it all. But just in case I have some short bus lurkers reading, I’ll explain. My regular readers are not mental midgets so this is not directed to the 5 of you. LOL

What is it about these trivial stories that make them so newsworthy that they are even mentioned on the evening news or on any of the MSM websites?

Sandra Bullock spotted without her wedding ring. HOLY SHIT BATMAN!!! Did she lose it? Or did she recently find out about her cheating husband’s tryst with several skanks? Aaarrooo…

Larry King’s wife’s hot sidepiece dick-on-the-side is running off at the mouth about his sexcapades with Mrs. King. Are we shocked she fooled around behind her husband’s back? Shit…have you seen Larry King? *Blech* Whatever happened to discretion? SMDH

Successful black women can’t find a man. *YAWWWN* If you follow my blog…you already know. ::rolls eyes::

Heather Locklear gets a ticket for hit and run. Uhmmm, was it person? A dog? Was she drunk off her ass? Is she currently on a TV show?  Pssshh…whatever.

There is a shortage of toilet paper. Oh shit!! Wait…yeah, that could be a big problem. ::adds TP to the grocery list::

And in other breaking  news…Chocl8t is still single, black, and SEXY AS HELL. (like you didn’t already know) 😉

Being single and unattached, I have become accustomed to “flying solo“. I don’t always like it but it has become the reality of my life. I am not complaining – just stating a fact.

Trying new things alone is the worst for me only because I am shy and usually find it hard striking up conversations with strangers. Not to mention, new adventures are always fun to share with friends.

However, I have learned you can not always depend upon nor wait for friends to join you when embarking upon new adventures or even every day run-of-the-mill activities. I never want to wake up 10-20 years from now and have a bad case of the “if I would’ve, could’ve, should’ve(s)”.

That is why when Maxwell’s & Jill Scott’s concert tickets went on sale I bought my ticket the first day. Yes. I am going alone to a concert for the first time ever.

I am also planning my first tandem sky dive for May/June. I will be going it along for that also – well not really “alone” since it is a tandem jump, but you get the idea.

Today was no different when I set out to go cycling on the Silver Comet Trail.

One hour, a sore behind, two achy quads, and a head of “helmet hair” later, I can say I enjoyed my ride…so much so, I will be going again next weekend when I will purchase my new, slightly used, bicycle!

One is not always the loneliest number. 😉

Here’s to flying solo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have ever attended a Black church anywhere in America, you have witnessed the fashion show of all fashion shows.

First Ladies, head ushers, Deaconess Board members, Elders, Evangelists, choir directors, and church mothers don their finest threads with matching bags and hats and come to the cathedral strutting like peacocks. Which is ironic since it is the male peacock that struts to attract the female peacock, but I digress.

Having grown up in the church, I am VERY familiar with the bedazzled suits/dresses with the accompanying ornate hats or “head dressings”. For as long as I can remember I wondered WHERE these women shopped for their gear. Well, over the weekend…I found it!!!

Oh, not that I wanted to patronize the establishment but rather view in amazement and plot its demise. The sobering reality that arson carries stiff prison sentences in Georgia is the only thing that keeps me from following through with my plans…but again….I digress.
