Since my early 20s, I have been a strong supporter and advocate for Pro Choice, the idea that the government has the right to tell me what to do with my body angered me – still does.
While I was in college, I remember friends who visited Planned Parenthood clinics for free birth control and on a few unfortunate, sad occasions – an abortion. I never needed the services at Planned Parenthood because my mother had good medical coverage via her job. However, I thought this was a great free service, the birth control, for young poor women and college students.
In the span of 2 hours a major shift occurred – my views on both matters are cloudy at best. This does not come as a result of some deep religious or spiritual movement. No. Quite the contrary. The 2 hour documentary, “Maafa 21: Black Genocide In 21st Century America“, shook me to my core and goes into great detail of the history behind Planned Parenthood and its founder, Margaret Sanger, her connections with Eugenics and her ties to Hitler and the Holocaust.
Yes, people…IT IS THAT deep!
Margaret Sanger did not create Planned Parenthood out of some philanthropic desire to help the poor and impoverished nor out of some moral obligation to aid poor black women and children. Margaret Sanger was a racist elitist hellbent on a mission of racial purification.

The purpose in promoting birth control was “to create a race of thoroughbreds,” she wrote in the Birth Control Review, Nov. 1921 (p. 2)On sterilization & racial purification:

As I stated earlier, this video shook me to my core! SHOOK ME! As it stands now, I really can’t say where I stand on abortion rights or birth control. I find it necessary to do some re-evaluation of my core beliefs mid-way through my life. I find it uncomfortable.

I’m quite the conspiracy theorist and and as such, have heard this before. Everyone tries to pass on valuable information but somewhere in the mix, it all seems to fade. I think that everyone who tweets should retweet. Everyone who blogs, should link. This is the kind information that White Amerikkka does not want us to know and it’s up to us to pass it on.
I still leave the choice in the hands of the woman as it is her body with which she has to deal and her alone. I think it would be a tad bit presumptuous to say that all women who are with child should follow nature’s course and become a parent. Some are just not ready or able.
“From all things are spawn others”. The organization and its roots are steeped in evil, but the end result is, today, a choice for seemingly hopeless women.
“I should have swallowed the blue pill”. I have rued many choices that I have made and said those words so many times. Once you know, it’s too late . . . or perhaps . . . just in time.

Planned Parenthood was always touted on our college campus as a place to get quality reproductive health care at low cost or free. Funny how they didn’t mention all that other stuff. I hope that the organization has decided to distance themselves from such heinous rhetoric and the monster who spouted it!
@ Blonde – On the outside, to the general public, at a cursory glance it would seem that the organization has distanced itself from the original mission. Look closely and see these clinics are primarily in poor neighborhoods with its patrons being primary Black and Brown women. So yeah…”distanced” my ass. 😐 The game plan is still the same. Well now! Glad to see I’m not the only person who is going through the “Matrix”! KUDOS for the open mindedness and the willingness to share vital information! It’s hard to float through life the morning after the “blue pill” has been digested cuz shit is really deep! And to think, the “prestigious” (evil) Rockefeller Foundation supplied the funding for Planned Parenthood. And believe it or not, this is just ONE area of deception.
I still say; my body, my choice (I remain Pro-Choice) but when you have all the information needed, only then can one make an informed decision. Rape for example might be a good reason to never change Roe vs. Wade (IMHO). (Yes, that’s a slight sidebar.)

I’ve heard this Margaret Sanger story many moons ago. I’m not one to be a conspiracy theorist in the least. I take everything like this with a grain of salt. I want to say that a long time ago I read something that debunked some of this (Margaret Sanger information) but I can’t quite remember. I haven’t watched the video cause I don’t think it’s any different than what I read years ago.
I worked for planned parenthood in my hometown many moons ago. I really just can’t get with the planned parenthood is evil thing. I’ve always had allot of respect for the organization and working for it just solidified that respect.
And quite honestly, I can’t see how the origins of this 1 organization (true or not) would change someone’s mind about pro-choice or birth control. That makes no sense to me. PP is not the only organization in the universe that performs abortions.
Abortion needs to stay legal period. I remember my mother telling me stories of the back alley abortions performed when she was growing up. Think of the HBO movies if these walls could talk. We don’t want to go back to that. There is always going to be some young girl, some woman black, white, green or purple that for some reason is going to “need” an abortion. I’d rather she be able to get an abortion legally than to have to resort to some sick fool in an alley with a coat hanger.
As for birth control. Seriously? Just knowing all the kids that are friends with or go to school with my son that have kids or are having kids. And the stats on teen pregnancy that I use to type up when I worked for PP. GTFOH birth control needs to be free dammit! As far as I’m concerned. Nothing will ever change my mind about that. We have far too many babies having babies right now. Abstinence teaching is not working. I remember we have STD book at PP. That book scared the shit out of me. But do you think it did anything to kids that saw it that came through the office? Nope, they had that it can’t happen to me stance about it. So we just handed them more condoms and prayed they simple asses used them.
I could go on and on about this but to me it’s like arguing religion and politics. You are never going to change anyone’s opinion. Good or bad.
The information you read that “debunked” the Margaret Sanger information…did it disprove that she was a racist? Did it disprove her close association and ties with Eugenics? Did it disprove the published quotes she made regarding race and blacks in particular?
I can understand how you can’t see why a video can give one pause given the fact tht you haven’t watched the video. Not sure of the information you came across before so I can’t make a rational comparison of the two…and neither can you.
Birth control can be free just as long as your not using my tax dollars for it. We pay enough as it is into a system set up and designed to keep the poor dependent. IMO Not sure what the answer is to the rampant teen sex/pregnancy. Birth control is a viable option and my concerns lie mostly with abortion than with BC given the history.
My mother also shared stories of back alley abortions doctors. Which is another reason I stood so firmly in my Pro Choice views.

I watched about 30 minutes of the video yesterday and thought wait I heard/read all this before…so I didn’t feel the need to go any further.
As I said I can’t remember what I read that debunked if anything….I remember there was allot of back and forth on the subject of Margaret Sanger.
As for tax dollars and birth control…yea I think it’s cheaper to pay for a pill than to pay for 18 years of medical and financial care (welfare).
And I can say the PP I worked at was not 100% federally funded…we actually took donations and had fundraisers…they still have huge fundraisers. I can’t speak for any other PP but I’m assuming that’s the same for most if not all of them.
I will never be anything but pro-choice…me personally I may never agree with abortion…but my personal beliefs have nothing to do with a woman’s right to choose. I think that’s where folks get all messed up in the game. Your blues ain’t like mine and you are not living my life. So allow those women to choose. I don’t know if any woman who was pregnant and wanted an abortion is gonna be like oh wait Margaret Sanger was a racist so let me have this baby and struggle and all that good stuff. Yea I don’t think so… *kanye shrug*

I get a portion of what your view is, but I think there might be something missing about how you’re perceiving the overall message displayed within this documentary. I posted before (I too remain pro-choice– BTW), but I do think the bases of what this documentary is disclosing, has a far more deeper meaning– which IS THE ELIMINATION OF BLACK people.
Here’s a fact– in 1984 there was 11% Black population in the U.S.– approx. 26 or 7 (I think that’s right) years later… Blacks still hold steady at 11-12%… don’t you think that’s a little odd?
Now, certainly DON’T MEAN to offend, but I think a good way to form an opinion is to thoroughly review/research or in this case watch through the material provided. 30 minutes of viewing, is sort of like looking at Cliff Notes for Hamlet or MacBeth (IMHO). I’m popping back and forth on this topic because I AM looking forward to dialogue on this hidden subject. I am shocked that there is clearly an agenda that most of us Black folks, may NOT be aware of. In my mind– it certainly sheds a little light on why the Black population is still holding steady at a 11-12 (some stats show 13% for the past many years) versus every immigrant who has come to the U.S. (I do factor in gang violence as well– we’re doing a great job of killing ourselves.) Now… don’t you think it’s slightly odd that the Black race has NEVER reached the 20 percentile? Hey– I do.
I sure hope you watch this documentary from beginning to end– it might actually change your view. It’s really not about “pro or life” [choice], it’s about a hidden agenda against Black people at it’s core.

Glad to read this article I have heard about this before. I still believe women should have full control of their body. As a man I cannot dictate what a woman should do when I refuse to be there for her physically and emotionally. On the other hand the family breakdown in a large part of our black community has led to actual reduction in the black population and now we are not the largest minority group.

I think chocl8t’s article on this issue is timely and surely prophetic since this month, South Carolina Lt. Governor Says Needy Children Are Like Stray Animals And Should Not Be Fed. This comment is made in 2010! With this type of comment by a republican official and the other comment by Senator Reid a democrat you can see why we need to get OUR act together. Imagine what is said and done behind close doors!
I came across this information a few months ago after being referred by another source and I was appalled. From my knowledge, shortly after this information was released our president came out and defended and praised Planned Parenthood for all the great things they supposedly do. None of this came as s shock to me because it’s no big secret how this society is run and who runs it and for whose benefit. Sad stuff.
