Here is my pick for this week.

Michael Franks (born 18 September 1944 in La Jolla, California) is a smooth jazz singer and songwriter from the United States. He has recorded with a Who’s Who of artists, such as Patti Austin, Brenda Russell, Art Garfunkel, and David Sanborn. His songs have been recorded by The Manhattan Transfer, Patti Labelle, Carmen McRae, Diana Krall, and The Carpenters.

His best known works include “Popsicle Toes”, “Monkey See, Monkey Do”, “The Lady Wants to Know”, “When the Cookie Jar is Empty”, “Tiger in the Rain”, “Rainy Night in Tokyo”, and “Tell Me All About It”. His biggest hit came in 1983 with “When Sly Calls (Don’t Touch That Phone)”, from the album Passionfruit. Radio hits include “Your Secret’s Safe With Me” from the 1985 album Skin Dive, and “Island Life” from 1987’s The Camera Never Lies. [Source]

Michael Franks’ music evokes memories of my days at LSU and the major crush I had on F.Blunt. His music was playing on the cassette tape player while we made out in his dorm room after drinking a bottle of Asti Spumante. The making out didn’t go any further than some heavy petting. Yep, those were some good times!!! 8)

Port-o-Potty Upgrade

These are photos of a new public restroom in Houston. It is made of one-way glass where no one can see in but once inside, you can see out.

Would you utilize the facility? Could you?

Sorry, I couldn’t do it! NOPE! NO WAY!!! I have enough bathroom hangups as it is and this would have me on the verge of being potty challenged the rest of my life!! 8)

  

CraigsList HIV Positive Rapist

Take a good look at this guy. Allen Jamar McDowell is accused of sexually assaulting two women after luring them to an apartment. This 18 year old dipsh*t is HIV Positive and used Craigs List to find his victims. DeKalb County police want to know if there are any other women who may have fallen victim to this sick bastard.

Police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said Tuesday one woman was raped and the other robbed and sexually assaulted at the vacant apartment at 3527 Kensington Road.

Investigators think there are other victims and are urging them to call the the DeKalb County Special Victims Unit at (770) 724-7710. Read story here.

Maaan, how I wish I could set the punishment for rapist, child molesters, and pedophiles! These deviants would face sentences to include but not limited to the following:

  • A razor blade spike sliding board into a pool of rubbing alcohol.
  • Fitted with a customized testicle gripping vice
  • Daily anal probing with the Jaws of Life
  • Timed Testicle Tasering

My heart goes out to McDowell’s victims. The sexual assault and resulting mental anguish is exponentially compounded by the rapist’s HIV status. For the next 10+ years the women will need to be tested regularly for HIV, potentially ruining their lives. Lets keep these women in our prayers.

What Would You Do?

A friend fowarded the following link to me yesterday. To say the least, it is very disturbing.

Initially, I only viewed the first 30 seconds because I got so angry. Angry because:

  1. no one intervened on the elderly lady’s behalf
  2. the total lack of concern by other passengers
  3. the young men in the background egging on the ignorance
  4. the state of (some) youth today.

Watch for yourself. Then tell me, would you have intervened or kept it moving?

What has happened to not only our young people but to us as a whole that we refuse to speak out and take some action. What if this was your mother or grandmother?
