President-Elect Barack Hussein Obama

We as a country have the opportunity to show the world we’re not just all talk when it comes to fair equal opportunity for all! Proving that no matter your background, race, or religion, if you work hard you can achieve anything. This man shows little young black boys across this nation there are other roads to success besides being a pro athlete or rap star. For the first time in my life I understand how one can be moved to tears. For those “anti” Obama critics who attempt to marginalize him and his supporters by calling him a “messiah”…don’t underestimate a man that can inspire hope and call to action millions of people who are tired of the same old status quo.
Now that I’m done being mushy…I watched the following video and cracked up. I squealed loudly with laughter at several points. I won’t spoil it so enjoy it for yourself!!
Get out and VOTE!!
Yeah. I said it! T.I. could get it!!!
Clifford J. Harris Jr’s stock has just increased in my book and he can “have whatevah he liiiikes“. 😉
Like most convicted felons, T.I. was under the impression he could not vote in this historical election. Aaaah, but don’t underestimate true grit, determination and the desire to be informed.
T.I. originally thought his voting privileges were revoked as a convicted felon, until he researched and learned that under a Georgia law felons are eligible if they’re not currently serving probation or a prison sentence.
“It’s a relief,” said the best-selling rapper, who stood in line for no more than 10 minutes on Wednesday before entering a polling center in suburban Atlanta to vote for the first time in his life.
“This what it is all about, not staying up late and waking up early to vote,” he added. “Now rather than just talking about it, I’m being about it. I’m leading by example, and it makes me feel a lot better.” [SOURCE]
Oh, that made me HAWT!! HAWT likeFIYA!! 😛
Maybe more young cats will take a page from T.I.’s book and not settle for what someone might have told them….or go on what they’ve “heard” in the streets!! Pick up a book, go to the library, make a few phone calls and find out THE TRUTH for your dayum self!!!
Props to T.I. for setting a great example right here!!
Last week I had trouble sleeping and my nerves had my stomach doing flip flops. I had a small gathering of friends at my home last Friday which turned out well. I cooked and my guests supplied the wine. It was a lot of work involved but not surrounding the cooking but the preparation (sweeping the garage, changing out a blown light on the front porch, cleaning the interior of the house). Even so, I enjoyed the food, the wine, and the company. 😉 I’m looking forward to the next one!
I had the house to myself for an entire week. For those who don’t know, I have a close friend living with me because she’s going through a major life transition and needed a place to live for a while. I’m not certain how long she’ll be with me though. But last week, I had the house to myself and enjoyed it immensely! It’s been been three months. It’s been a challenge. It’s been enlightening. I want my space back. 😐
I have had a couple of crazy dreams. Monday night I dreamed of a school of fish that I could see right below the surface of the water. It seemed like it was thousands of fish. When I awakened I thought, “Uh-oh”. I know the old wives tale that someone is pregnant when you dream of fish. Well, rest assured, it isn’t me! That’s for dayum sure since I haven’t been doing anything to get “knocked up”, unfortunately. 😐
With that in mind though, I did have a “first kiss” moment with someone. 😀 WHEW LAAAWWD!
The next dream was just last night. A fighter jet landed and a man got out and started hunting people. I was one of those people running through the streets not able to find a place to hide…not able to run fast enough to escape. UGH!! I hate those kind of dreams!!!
It has taken me nearly all of my life to come to the realization that I shouldn’t take advice from people who aren’t following those same “pearls of wisdom“. Women, in particular, are infamous for giving other girlfriends advice, especially about men. The very thing that girlfriend warns you about or strongly admonishes you to do or not to do, she’s probably doing that very thing herself. Girl, sweep your own stoop before worrying about what’s going on with me over here…mmmkay.
It’s getting cold. Snuggling weather is here. A few Erykah Badu lyrics come to mind…
I want somebody to walk up behind me
And kiss me on my neck
And breath…on my neck
::DEEP SIGH:: 😐
I am tired of all the Presidential election news. I am tired of the pundits. I am tired of the Polls. I am ready for the election to be over like yesterday!!
This is, in part, why I have not posted in over a week. There are other reasons but they aren’t as dismal. 😉 But until I feel “inspired” again, posts will be scarce.
